CBCT 3-D Cone Beam CT Technology

Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT or 3D scan) is an innovative medical imaging technique that provides endodontists with three-dimensional views of the teeth and surrounding structures.   CBCT greatly enhances the endodontist's ability to diagnose, evaluate, treat and care for patients. Our office is one of the few offices in Orange County that offers this technology and other dentists in the area use our office for their patients imaging needs.

During a CBCT scan, the machine rotates around the patient, capturing images using a cone-shaped X-ray beam. These images are then used to construct a 3D representation of specific teeth or  any part of oral and maxillofacial region (mouth, jaw and neck), and ears, nose and throat.
